Proximal Demonstratives - are used to when things being mentioned are very close to the speaker.
This - is used when something or someone is singular.
- This is a really good book.
- This is my son.
- This is not my house.
- This food is so good.
- Is this your car?
- Is this the street?
These - is used when something or someone is plural.
- These are really good books.
- These are my children.
- These are not my clothes.
- These are not my dishes.
- Are these your workers?
- Are these your pants?
