There are five types of adverbs.
- Adverbs of Degree - states "how much" or to "what degree"
- Very - He cooks very well.
- Extremely - She speaks extremely well.
- Quite - The food was quite good.
- Barely - There was barely room for everyone in the bus.
- Adverbs of Manner - states "how" something happens
- Fast - The girls walk eagerly to school.
- Slow - The teacher writes clearly.
- Calmly - The doctor speaks calmly.
- Patiently - We wait patiently for the bus.
- Adverbs of Frequency - states "how often" something happens
- Always - We always go to school.
- Slow - The teacher writes clearly.

- Adverbs of Time - states "when" something happens
- Later - I will call her later.
- Tomorrow - We will go to work tomorrow.
