Pronouns - Nouns - English Grammar
Plural Nouns – are nouns that can be counted, and there is more than 2 of something; the plural form of the noun is always used
- three apples – I have three apples.
- four children – There are four children in the park.
Plural Nouns - Rules - A determiner is optional before the noun or the noun phrase. The following types of determiners are used before the nouns:
- Possessive Pronouns – such as my, his, ours, whose etc
- This is my dog.
- We live in our house.
- Articles – the only article that can be used is "the"
- I want help the dogs from the local animal shelter.
- We do not want the books.
- Numbers – any number can be used except number zero, & one.
- We have three cars.
- The girls have four brothers.
- My dog has two water bowls.
- Quantifiers can be used, such as some, any, many, a lot etc.
- There are many books on the table.
- We have a lot of people in the house.
