It & There


"It" & "there" are used as a pronouns.

It can be used as a pronoun when referring to something specific such as weather, amounts, time & distance:

  • It is cold outside.
  • It is very expensive.
  • It is 4 o'clock.
  • It is a really nice phone.
  • It is really far from my job.

There can be used as a pronoun to state where, when or that something exists.

There was a lot of people yesterday.

  • There is going to be a bad storm in a few days.
  • There are many jobs.
  • There are many places to go in the city.
