Complete Sentences

What is a complete Sentence?

A complete sentence is a group of words that contains 3 parts:

• a verb
• a subject
• a complete thought

A complete sentence always starts with a capital letter, and ends with a punctuation mark or an end mark.

Examples:

The dog eats a lot of food.

• dog is the subject
• eats is the verb
• The whole sentence is a complete thought.

If a sentence doesn't have the three required parts, then it is called a sentence fragment (part of a sentence).
