Throughout – the whole thing; the whole place; to check all of something

  • I looked throughout my bag, and I could not find my wallet.
  • My sister & I walked throughout the park.
  • We traveled throughout Europe.

Through – from one side to the other side; to check all or part of something

  • My sister went quickly thorough my bag, but did not find my keys.
  • I don't like it when people walk through my garden.
  • We traveled through part of Europe.

Note: Many time though & throughout are interchangeable
