Types Of Adjective

There are 6 types of adjectives in the English:

  • Numbers: ten, fifty, one hundred
  • Quantity: less, all, some, half, plenty
  • Quality: color, size, shape etc.
  • Possessive: my, her, their, your
  • Interrogative: which, whose, what

Demonstrative: this, that, those, these

Adjectives also have 3 different levels of intensity

  • superlative
  • comparative
  • nominative

It is very common to use adjectives with nouns. Adjectives are used to describe the noun.

There are different groups of adjectives:

Option - this group of adjectives are used to describe an option of someone or something. It is not a fact. It can't be proved to be correct or incorrect.

Examples:

  • I think that the store is great.
  • We like good books.
  • The girls like children's programs on the T.V.

Facts - this group of adjectives are used to describe.

Determiners are also adjectives.
